From "The 3 Kinds of Sex He Craves"
by Colleen Rush in Redbook, January 2003

Need #1: The Sneak Attack. Want to make your guy's day? Unleash five minutes of furious passion on him when he leasts expects it. "A quickie screams, 'You are so hot, I've got to have you right now,'" says Roz Van Meter, sex therapist and author of 'Sizzling Sex in 30 Days'. "It's passionate, urgent, and erotic, and men love to feel irresistible, like you can't wait another second to be with him. ... Build up your own arousal by thinking about the erotic encounter beforehand: how he feels and smells, the way he moves, the look he gets when he's turned on. This emotional and sexual connection is what makes the sex passionate and pleasurable."

Need #2: The Seduction. "When a woman takes her time, it tells her man that she wants to savor him, play with him, and enjoy all of him," says Van Meter. So make every touch and stroke last as long as possible.

Need #3: The Raunchy Romp. ... Most men like a little role reversal, says Van Meter. "They love seeing their usually ladylike woman doing something a teeny bit nasty and out of character, whether it's being more aggressive, talking dirty, or wearing racy lingerie." ... It's that can't-control-yourself vibe that ultimately makes raunchy sex so memorable. ... This over-the-top action shows him that he has the power to unleash your inner sexy beast; what man wouldn't love that?

Highly Hyped And Overrated Sex Moves

Sometimes what sounds like a scintillating idea can totally flop when put into practice. Sex therapist Roz Van Meter, author of 'Sizzling Sex in 30 Days', explains why these carnal stunts are big clinkers.

Hot-Tub Love. Splashing around is fine during foreplay, but sex in any body of water -- hot tub, pool, lake, or sea -- is a bad idea, says Van Meter. "He's pushing water into you, which washes away your natural lubrication, and if the water gets into your uterus, it can lead to infection."

The Forklift. Ravaging each other up against a wall (like on an elevator) where he's holding up your rear can bring on bumps and bruises as you attempt to line up your body parts, says Van Meter. Plus, his back and arms are going to burn out before either of you finish.

Kinky Surprises. Leaping into bed in all leather, sticking your finger (or his) where the sun don't shine, or breaking out S&M items without prior consent can scare the pants back onto him, says Van Meter. "For some guys, it creates this paranoia, like 'What was she into before she met me?'"
